Recent trip to a Bothy near Ullapool
Thought I'd share a few pictures & the video of a great trip I've just had volunteering for the Mountain Bothy Association (MBA) doing some work at Shenavall Bothy - near Ullapool.
The track in is not open to the public, but because I was with the MBA work party and was taking in tools and equipment I got to take my D4 the 5 miles or so up over the Dundonnell Forest at about 1,300 feet from sea level.

I recorded the drive out using a time-lapse app on my iPhone and have put it on YouTube but I should have recorded more frames (only 1 every 5 seconds). Hey ho - it gives you a flavour of the route.
If anyone's interested, the MBA appeal for volunteers each year on their website and there's several Bothy's where you get the chance to drive into areas usually not accessible to vehicles.
We also got to walk up Beinn Dearg Mor one of the days in the most perfect weather you could imagine for the North West of Scotland in April !
All being well - I'll be volunteering again next year !1981 Unimog U1300L (ex German Army vehicle

When you see track like this - is there any sign saying that it is not allow to enter, or just you know you are not allow to get there? Curious to know to not make any mistake when such unpaved road calls me

In this instance, there was a locked gate to which I was given the padlock combination.
In Scotland, we have the right to walk anywhere but not take a vehicle.... 1981 Unimog U1300L (ex German Army vehicle
