| Just got back from Eastnor Castle LRE |

Weather was persisting down
Ruts were running muddy rivers
It was cold, dark n dank
This made for a blooming brilliant half day 
No over impressed with the 8speed box as it seemed to hunt for gears quite a bit, I do prefer the layout
Of the d3 and the press to select terrain was not in as easy reach as the knob on the d3
Same with the hi range and suspension height switches, not as easy to reach and u need to glance
Where they are..
Levers can be done by feel.
Pick up from a standing start was good but tbh now I've sorted mine, its not much different.
Impressive machine/s none the less and do like some touches like the brake hold
And gradual brake release downhill.
All in all great day and reccomend anyone go if given the chance

Did it this time last year, similar conditions and water did come over the bonnet without any problems as luckily I kept the correct speed!!!! Glad I did

Did Rockingham last year highly recommended. Displaced Yorkshireman.

Eastnor Castle LRE is a fantastic day.Also LRE West Country Honiton Devon again fantastic. amazing what can be achieved on standard tyres.

Did eastnor just before Christmas. Great setting and very down to earth instructor. Drive new vogue and latest D4. Personally preferred the D4. Surprising how much more adventurous they Allow you to be in a 50k vehicle compared to a 100k motor.

I find the "off road" controls easier on the D3. Especially if the drivers side 12v socket is being used.
Yogi, you could always buy a used D4 with a 6sp box, I did. I haven't yet driven the 8sp off road, but I think others here might have mentioned the hunting around for the right ratio. The price to pay for higher mpg!

I did it earlier this year and it was deep in Snow ! What an excellent day, did mine at Eastnor and had half day in a New D4 & half day in a FFRR !
I was amazed at the competency in the snow on standard tyres !
I drive both extensively off road and much prefer the D4 to the D3 !
In fact I prefer the D4 to the FFRR !
A great day out I'd definitely recommend it to any one Only dead fish go with the Flow !

I did my LRE last Thursday in Honiton, in their new MY14 D4.
Great afternoon. Conditions dry and sunny but the course was naturally very soft following so much rain. Would recommend it to anyone thinking of going D4 XS just sold. The best car I’ve owned. Over 10 years and no problems.

I did the half day at Eastnor at the weekend and would heartily recommend it. As a complete novice it was great to try out a disco in a safe and controlled environment and really learnt a lot. Very impressed by the capability of the vehicle with road tyres, had a great instructor and what a lovely place to get out and have a go. It really has given me the confidence to get off road in my own disco, can't wait.
