One of the tail gate cables which retained the tail gate fully open snapped the other day when I was sitting on the tail gate with my 2yr old.
Took it to LR main dealer, the d4 is under the extended warranty and I am being informed it's not covered. The warranty does not cover the tail gate or working parts and deemed as wear and tear?
I originally thought because the cable snapped, the one remaining cable on the other side could not hold our weight and the fixing tore from it's thread. TBH I did not look and took into my dealer. They advise the fixing on the right hand side cable probably worked lose under vibration, that it was on it's last part of thread when it then popped out under load, to which the cable on the other side snapped at it could not support our weight with only 1 cable support.
Most annoying, is the fact that when the cable broke, the tailgate then hit the bumper and I have a linear scratch and dent about 12 inched long from the impact on the bumper.
Has anyone had this before and did they get this covered under warranty? CLUB DEFNER
