Didn't Austin Gypsy's have Rolls Royce engines at one point ? Actually I just googled it and I think it was the Austin Champs that had them.

The Rols Royce..engine

was I beleive the same as the Vanden Plas Princess 4 litre

I had to look this up in the usual place (Wiki-whatsit)
The Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre R with its Rolls-Royce all-aluminium 175 bhp engine was announced in August 1964. With an unusually high power to weight ratio the car gave easy cruising at 90+ mph and was capable of 112 mph.[17]

The big change was under the bonnet where there was a result of more than two years technical collaboration between BMC and Rolls-Royce. The aluminium Rolls-Royce FB60 engine was a short-stroke version of the Rolls-Royce Military B: 4, 6 and 8 cylinder units of which more than 30,000 had already been produced.[17] The 6-cylinder engine weighed only 450 lb (204 kg).[18] Its cubic capacity was 3.909 litres (239 cu in). Over-square: bore was 95.25 mm (3.8 in), stroke 91.44 mm (3.6 in); with a 7.8:1 compression ratio its output was 175 bhp (130 kW; 177 PS) @4,800 rpm. Twin SU carburettors were fitted. Both block and head were aluminium, tappets were hydraulic self-adjusting operating on overhead inlet and side exhaust valves. The counterbalanced crankshaft ran in seven bearings.[19]

The company I served my appranticeship with in Halifax (William Asquiths Ltd) made the machinery that machined the engine block & head...we had this set of machines back in Halifax for upgrade & modifications in the late 60's..this wasnt the usual transfer line but terme unit machines....sets of machines that progressively did the task of taking a raw block to a finished engine....
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

The Princess R, was the first car that I can remember. My father owned one until about 1972. When I was old enough to sit upright unaided, my seat was the wide central armrest in the front.

H&S hadn't been born then. If my father thought he was going to brake a bit sharpish, he'd just stick his left arm out to stop me smashing into the dash Laughing Shocked

My dad had a princess R in the early seventies, I loved the thing as a small boy. Think he loved it to as it was the only car he didn't sell- I cut it up when we cleared his house and grounds a couple of years ago (the guys clearing the place found it to heavy to deal with!)
I've had a real burning desire to buy one since, it smelt the same inside as I remembered and was made in the way cars used to be before ford showed the world how to do it sensibly!
The amazing thing was the engine would still turn - It had sat there outside for 30+ years Shocked

Champ had a FB40 RR engine R had a FB60

The few Princess 4 Litre R left seem to fetch a bit of money:
