| EPB Fault - where to first? |

OK, I had the seemingly common EPB fault, and had to use the emergency release cable to free it up and get the car moving. A search has shown a heap of posts on various EPB faults, but what I can't seem to find is a list of likely causes to go through in order!
Can anyone suggest where to start? Is it wheels and discs off and check for physical seizing of the shoes, or checking the module to see if that had them forced on, or something different entirely?
