Rim size advice

I am thinking about buying a new set of alloys for putting AT/mud terrain tyres on for off road use.

I currently have 18" 5 spokes on with road bias tyres (Michelin Latitude HP) which I want to keep as I do about 300 miles a week back to work on mainly motorways. During some weekends, mainly during the winter months i need to go off road.

I was thinking about 17" standard rims with 265/70/17 on to give me a very deep tyre profile or get another set of 18's and put 255/60 AT on.

any advice would be grateful!

Either is a good solution - I have both.

17" wheels excellent for off-road use & give a comfortable ride

18" wheels slightly (hardly discernible) less good off road - but have the benefit you can fit V8 brake upgrade if you wish.

I would prefer 18'' wheels, with 265/60 tyres, a little taller than standard tyres but not too.

In my opinion, 17'' wheels seem too small on the huge car like our Discovery.

P.S.: if you want, I should sell a set of 4 genuine Land Rover 18'' rims: make me updated if you are interested
