Wiggs, the OBD2 interface is only fully functional with the dash warning lights on, if you are reading (or trying to Wink ) live data, then the engine can be running. If you are trying to get an ELM 327 diagnostic reader working, then I suspect it's a software / firmware problem you have Sad

Thanks Thumbs Up Yes thats the problem im having ...wont connect with engine running ..works fine on key position 1 Sad

some electronic control units use the medium speed CAN, some high speed, I suspect that the chipset used is overwhelmed by the high speed CAN data flow, typically, the high-speed CAN is only active once the ignition is on / vehicle running...

Well obviously i'm biased - see the first post in this thread Laughing Laughing
although since owning D3's I have had TurboChip & JE remaps, the 'Torq-Tune' brand, developed in conjunction with Chris John (LR Tuning on here) is a much newer tune and well tested, not just on dyno's and computers but also on a good mix of road types. I have personally used it for nearly 10k miles and it still puts a 'tiger in your tank' 8) Laughing Laughing Laughing

BTW - are you suggesting there is an 'unofficial' TC remap? Shocked Shocked Shocked

No it's not TD4 is what they put in the FL2, AFAIK the new Defender lump is simple know by LR as the 'four cylinder diesel' (Transit engine to everyone else Rolling Eyes )

Depends who you talk to.... an 'official LR presentation' referred to the Defender engine as a TD4 and the Freelander diesel as Td4..... although marketing bods have been known to lose touch with reality Rolling Eyes
