So far so great!
Finally bought a 2010 reg D4 HSE with 72k & FLRSH in Ipanema Sand and on GG ATs - V5 describes this as 'gold' but I wouldn't have said that - colour seems to vary between light beige-y and a sort of silver depending on ambient light!
This replaces a Mitsubishi L200 (manual) which I had for over 4 years from new till I finally got tired of the on-road ride and noise levels. As I do quite a lot of mild (farm tracks & fields) off-road in winter (shooting/working dogs etc) and some longish road journeys, I was seriously tempted when a mate bought a 55 plate D3 and went on and on about how comfortable it was!
After reading about the LRE days on this excellent forum, I went on to the website and picked up a half-day bargain session at the Luton location. I expected the D4 to be competent but was amazed by what it could do - even though it was automatic and on well-worn road tyres! Admittedly that was in expert hands but it convinced me that I had a vehicle that could do anything the L200 could do - and more - and in comfort and style!
I realise there is a penalty to pay in running costs (though NUF are covering it for same premium as L200 which surprised me) and possibly (hope not) reliabilty but so far no regrets.
Hope this is posted in the right section and sorry about all the exclamation marks - get a bit carried away!
