She's gone- bye chaps
As some of the more observant may have noticed, my D4 icon has dissapeared
I got a very good price, so she was away. I have pondered it for a while now been itchy for a change, had 3 discos, love them, but fancy a change, also, something a bit cheaper for a few years. Early retirement sounds more and more attractive with my current work load
Happy motoring! Will miss my big jag 3.0 roaring - but I'll be back in a LR for snow in the next few weeks but an old defender/series, more likely a BMW/Audi day to day! Change is no bad thing.
Weirdly enough I have stored my roof bars, tow bar etc, maybe it's a sign.

Over a week now. This is killing me. Getting in my temporary transport. And throwing the keys in the cup holder. Forgetting I don't have keyless start. I miss it so much

That's why I am looking for an old 4x4. Ruled out series, too old now to be used as everyday transport if necessary, I'd love one but just TOO old. I do need a 4x4 out here I think. Defender or early Disco. Possibly a Disco 2 V8, that's what I fancy, but in all likely hood (when I stop listening V8s on YouTube). a Td5, way better value than a defender and a lot more comfy. That and a brand new Merc with less than 1k miles on the clock, and a little 1 litre VW UP! With its winter tyres shall be a canny garage
If I can't find one that I like (can't rush into old LR's) then the little up will have to survive for this winter! I do miss the D4 I must say. But the merc is a hoot whilst being economical and way cheaper to buy. Plus can use an old LR proper off road 8)2023 Ineos Grenadier 3.0 Diesel Commercial

Around 4 months and 5,500 a miles in the Mercedes- not a squeak or rattle, very good on fuel always 40+, 50+ MPG on the motorway for something with a auto and around 200 horse. It is perfectly built. But, no soul, at all. But saves a shed load of cash.
Still looking for a 4x4 replacement, but with the lack of snow and both motors with winter tyres on, not really as pressing as before, however, an older LR alongside the german estate will be back on the drive at some point in a year or so when the withdrawal symptoms get too much. 2023 Ineos Grenadier 3.0 Diesel Commercial
