It's CAN bus, and it's a communications network between modules/ECUs.
Why do you ask? 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Many thanks for correcting me, CAN bus.
I have fitted a square led in light above driver, the one that comes on when one gets in the car
now i want to make all 3 lights to come on, when the car door open, and i would have leds
which draw very little current, but give good light
Will CAN bus cope

Bulbs/lamps are not connected to the CAN bus
There's a big misconception regarding LED lamps and the CAN bus, they don't (and can't) have a direct effect on the bus. However, a system which monitors the bulbs/lamps may see an LED replacement as being the same as a faulty bulb due to the tiny current consumption compared to that expected.
This causes the bulb monitor to flag up an error which it might broadcast on the CAN bus network (or another network) so other devices (like the instrument pack) could show you a message about a faulty bulb.
However, this doesn't apply to the interior lights as far as I know. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

You will most probably only be getting an error logged when the faults are read by diagnostic equipment.
When you repace interior lights with LEDs - usually INTERIOR LAMPS 1 CIRCUIT -:B1D13 appears. Not a big problem though... 8) 2013 D4 TDV6 S; Baltic Blue; IID Tool BT

So you don't want to do a Rhod Gilbert then and put a "light of a million candles in" just £3.99?
