Upgrading Stereo To Hi-Line

Hi,

I am after upgrading the system in my TDV6 S to the active HK system in the SE & HSE, including the head unit which I believe plays MP3s. Can anyone tell me the pitfalls and difficulties? There are lots of these about so availability is OK but it seems all the LR stuff ties in to the onboard computers like the Sat Nav which I have been told wont work in anythign other than the car it was built for.

All help appreciated.

my base head unit plays mp3 discs no problem. i think it depends on what software you use to burn.

i am however on head unit no2 as the original only worked intermitently from day 1. dealer tried to initially fob me off with the "you can only use genuine cd's sir".
 Back in the game!

I have used lots of none genuine CD's in my 6 disc changer, and haven't had one that didn't play. But The only ones I think you need to stay clear of are the one's with "pretty" labels stuck on them. The heat in the player can loosen the label and the disc's get stuck in the machine.

I don't mean to play 'copied' CDs. An MP3 CD is one with lots of compressed music on one disc. Has no-one else tried this yet?
