| It doesnt beep before startup (intermittent) |

Hi guys,
as the title says, when i turn the key and the lights come up on the dash, i used to wait for several seconds, heard this beep noise, and then i started the engine. Sometimes lately, this beep is not there no matter how long i wait, so i just start the engine. Any ideas????
P.S Normally, I know that this happens only if you swich off the engine, and then start it in a matter of a few minutes. Mine though has the symptom even in the morning. (switched off all night).

A beep before start up? Is there something wrong with mine lol? Never heard of this. Is there someone more knowledgeable out there?

Not sure i've ever heard mine beep either....
Or does it do it when its below a certain temperature... Like an ice warning...?

What model year is your D3 (your profile is empty)? Have you had any software updates recently.
I believe you are referring to the system check "bong". 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Mine used to beep before start up but after having the software updated it no longer does. Also doesn't beep when the low fuel warning light comes on anymore.
I assumed that it's something to do with the newer software.
Cheers.  Now gone - D3 Zambezi silver. Smoked / limo windows, various LEDs, DVD in headrest screens. Side steps, GG AT's, software and Bluetooth upgrades by Bodsy.
