gearbox software version
Chaps
My D4 is booked in at the stealers to (hopefully) have the gearbox software updated, to fix the hesitation as per the TSB 00545.
Is there any way (without a faultmate/etc) to be able to show the current SW version, and hopefully the updated one?

I need to do this also. I've contacted my dealer to find out what my options are as i'm under warranty.
The fault I have isn't constant. I maybe does it a couple of times a week. Yesterday I was leaving a friends house I pressed the throttle and nothing happened... then about a second or two later it burst into life.
Annoying

Just called my local dealer. The first person knew all about the software update. I got through to service and they didnt know about the update. They said they will do some research and come back with a price.
What shoudl i expect to pay? I dont have landrover warranty.

Update:
Landrover say this isnt a free mod.
I also spoke to a specialist and he said there is an inbuild protection feature which prevents the driver from booting the engine and gearbox when the vehicle is cold. Once all the parts are sufficiently warmed up, the throttle delay will disappear. In fareness I have only ever noticed the issue when ive just started the engine.

this isnt throttle delay, its the gearbox not changing down. It may feel like throttle delay (same type of effect), but if you push the throttle down, the gearbox then kicks down and you take off.

Landrover just called to say my car has never been serviced by landrover and i have to submit the chassis number to see if the fault can be resolved by a software update.
Strange considering my car has a full landrover service history, albeit, not from my local dealer.

Drove an Ewok (diesel) loaner from the dealers the other day. If the throttle delay is anything like that one it's bloody dangerous. If I had an Ewok it would be back tom the dealer till fixed.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

There is a newer update that is even better than TSB00545; I had the original fix applied, and it certainly improve things, but at the cost of rough change downs. The newer update make things silky smooth, and if anything, even better response to the right foot.

I find it hard to believe that they would update all software to the latest standard as part of a routine service. Some of the loads take hours so would tie-up a bay, SDD and power source as well as some technician time which would impact throughput and revenue. It also runs the small risk of something going wrong.
It never used to be part of LR service schedule - has this changed?Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
