[Wanted] Disco 3 2.7 lower crankcase with baffle plate.
Hi folks, It would appear that my D3 has decided to self terminate in the engine department, so im looking for a good low mileage unit to replace the seized one. Any help would be muchly appreciated. I've now sourced a good engine and just need lower block stiffener/ crankcase , the alloy bit

Given other recent posts on the forum regarding L/R making a goodwill contrib of 50% of a replacement short engine (for one that had done many more miles), have you tried contacting LR?Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

^^ Certainly worth a try.
Land Rover know they have problems with certain aspects of these engines and other forum members have been successful in negotiating reasonable contributions from Land Rover for replacement engines. Some have done more miles than yours, but are quite a bit newer.
Have you just had the oil changed, by any chance? Lots of posts on here about slipping shells.

HI LR arnt as good as they led me to believe with the 50/50 deal .
They offered me on friday its gone from costing £7500 and my half £3750 to now £4700 so way short of 50/50 and thats plus any parts they brake changing the engine ancillaries over at full retail cost to me ...

Last service done by LR at Garstang @ 62K. Service due sticker they put on screen says due at 90K. Quite unsure what to do at the moment now.

90-62=28
Are they trying to tell you that the service interval for a D3 has increased to 28,000 miles?
Presume they mean that the service due is the 90,000 mile service?

Ignore the 90k bit, that's b ks. Whoever put that up there is a moron unless he's also put a date. Next one would have been due at 77k or 12 months after last one. Any idea why it seized? Bit worrying as 06MY cars seemed to be reasonably immune to engines going bust.

Service indicator on dash is implying that that service is due in -545 days (i.e. it is 545 days overdue). Presume Garstang either didn't look at it (and took your money) or they forgot to reset the service indicator.
I'd take a photograph of that, if I were you. It may be used in evidence.
