Ifor Williams Trailer - Ramp/Van Doors - Water Tight?

Hi all

I am looking at the Ifor Williams BV64e Single axle for various reasons including moving camping gear about. Hence this forum., mods please feel free to move.

I went to look at one today, all be it used, (will be going for new) and when standing at the front door looking towards the back doors/ramp i could see daylight.

Is this normal? Has this one just had a really hard life?

Obviously my concern now is that water is likely to make its way in through here.

Sales guy also mentioned that the personal door at the front is not a fantastic seal and can also let water in.

Anyone else find this a problem? Is it only in exceptional circumstances?

Thanks

Have only used these trailers occasionally in an old job but my recollection is that they should be pretty much watertight.

That one does look a little bit out of kilter from use but I've just found this on the Ifor Williams site:

Please note that the Box Van range, while offering excellent weather protection, is not guaranteed to be completely waterproof

So I guess you might never find a perfect one? but being able to see daylight like that probably wouldn't happen in a new one but they do "settle" over time.

Could be better value to buy a used one and work on weatherproofing it yourself with some extra rubber strips in strategic places and adding strength in others?[/quote]
