Gear selector click. New problem or unnoticed existing?

Quick question to anyone with a dial type gear selector MY13 D4. It may be my imaginings, but it have not noticed the gear selector make a slight clicking sound and give a slight knock when engaging the foot brake to change gear. I seem to recollect there being no slight clunk, but this morning it feels like bits of metal moving somewhere below the gear selector when I put my foot on the brake to change gear.

Can someone tell me if this is the norm and I'm imagining it or if I've got the start of a problem?

Sounds just like the issue I thought I had,

Turns out it wasn't an issue , as answered by the clever peeps on the forum, though i still swear it somehow got louder , hence me noticing it, where I hadn't before. Very Happy

Cheer,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks for that! That sounds like the one. I'm sure it wasn't as loud as this before. Or to put it another way I never noticed it before. I'm not sure where the hell I'd get at the thing on a centre toggle gearbox. Might leave it till it either gets louder and then do something or when it goes for service next.

I'll leave it at that unless anyone else has anything further to add?
