Will not fire.
D3 turns over but will not start. No faults showing. Fitted new battery to key fob few days before and worked OK. Locks/unlocks Ok. Tried hard reset; no difference. Fuel at valve Ok. Any suggestions?

Glow plugs have to be a prime candidate at this time of the year.

Do you have any fault codes?
No fault codes. I do have a hawkeye but nothing showing although without engine running I do not know if it would read any. Car started and ran fine friday evening, drove home, saturday morning fired briefly then just cranked over. Fuel light had just come on friday near home. Could all glow plugs go at once? No exhaust when turning over.

Engine turns over fine but there was a slight rattle on tickover after startup.

is the fuel pumping at the schraeder valve within the first 30 seconds of cycling the ignition?
.should be flowing like a mini water fountain. if not I would suggest a new filter or a fubar lpfp in tank. These can be had for 30 quid and 3 hours of diy leaving more for xmas.
could be a broken hpfp belt too if the flow is good.

It's unlikely all plugs have gone at once. What is more likely is they have all failed over a period of time, and now the cold weather is here, it has become more prevalent
Glow plugs are easy enough to check with a Multimeter, if you have one.
Otherwise, it will need a bit of investigation with some diagnostic timeMy D3 Build Thread

If it fired up then died and now just turns over and the fuel light is on, might be worth chucking a can of juice in the tank incase your gauge isn't 100% accurate?

Will check flow at valve although may not get a chance until next weekend.

Bleed sequence: Ignition on position 2 and leave for thirty seconds, turn off then repeat process 2 more times should be enough

a blue electrical bullet connector is good for pressing the valve in and a good supply of obsorbant rags is a must,or anything similar bicycle adaptor and a jam jar etc may suffice also.A 2 minute job and can be done on your own once engine cover is removed.Don;t drop grey cap!!!!
If no good flow then don't waste your battery anymore as it will need fuel getting to the high pressure pump so it can pressurize injectors.

Cheers, thanks for replys. Unfortunately have to work at car outdoors, and being very busy work wise, may not get a chance to try anything for a while. Will keep posting as and when.

eventually got a chance to check out problem; broken hpfp belt tensioner pully bolt. A real problem.
Have spent some time now attempting to extract snapped stud from housing and now stud extracter stuck in stud. Is it possible to remove camshaftdrive pully in-car??? Any advice.
