18" or 19" ???
What are the pro's and cons if any, of 19" rims over 18", currently have 18" rims 255/60/18 tyres, but have been offered some 19" rims with 255/60/19, thanks all.

I think there is more tyre choice in 18. Could be wrong tho, I'm sure I'll be corrected.

I preffered 18" rims, virtually impossible to kerb them, a deeper sidewall for off-roading. Cheaper tyre cost, more comfy ride on road, tyres seemed to wear slightly better than 19". Although very much a personal preference, I happen to think a deeper sidewall tyre also looks better on what is arguably one of the best off road vehicles produced.
There is a tad more roll when cornering hard with 18" rims in comparison to 19", I got used to this after a day. But I rarely fling my Disco around anyway.
The big advantage is that 255-60-18 Pirelli ATR's are still officially supplied by Pirelli to the UK and other European countries
BTW, did you mean 255-55-19 which is the correct tyre size for 19" rims, NOT 255-60-19
One day I'll but a set of Compomotive 18" rims to fit on my D4.

I got 19s. Less rubber more mettle means better on the road surely? Discovery 3 HSE MY2006 - On the very edge of Kent known as Sunny Margate

Of the two I'd go for the 18's as LT and DSL say
Ride quality in the 19s is a bit too firm for my tasteCurrently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Nope as they are both 255 wide (in standard form) so same rubber on the road. More sidewall wth 18s means better handling over rough roads/pot holes. Also less vulnerable to sidewall pinch and hence punctures. 19s mean better handling when chucking the car around.
Pays yer money and takes yer chance/choice.

19"s do offer a comfy ride, but 18"s even more so.
Some here loved having 17"s on their D3's. I found them just a bit too roly poly and you couldn't fit the V8 disc upgrade under 17" rims, you can with 18"s.
Each to their own etc. when it comes to looks. But IMO there's nothing sporty about a Disco, so why reduce the ride quality, have to worry about kerbing expensive alloys and ruin the amazing off road ability. Others here who have elastic bands for tyres will naturally disagree with all of this
I've got a set of 19" and 18" rims. The tires on the 19" rims are Nokian WRG2 SUV's. And the 18" are useless Wrangler HP's.
I like the Nokians, but I had a blow out on the highway due to roofers being careless with how they cleaned up after themselves. So, that set is done. I've been using the Wrangler HP's this winter, can't believe how much suckage Goodyear has designed into them.
So, in the spring, one of the sets will be getting new tires put on. I've been debating what to do. Do I use the 19" for summer rubber, and the 18" for winter rubber? Or do I go the other direction.

Do you venture off road much in the summer? If you don't I'd probably put winter rubber on the 18"s. As winter tyres are usually more expensive than summers and 18" winters will be cheaper than 19"s.
Having said that, the most extreme and potentially damaging off roading I've done has always been on 19" rims. Never had any issues. But I was more careful than I would have been if I'd have had a deeper sidewall and more paranoid.
That's the problem, if I put the 18's on with some beefy rubber, I'll most likely do more off roading. I think for the conditions we have here, 19's are most likely good enough for off roading. We don't have a lot of the big rocks, where the extra sidewall comes in handy. Mostly muddy trails.
And as far as cost, it doesn't matter either, I'll be buying 2 sets this year, if it's cheaper summer tires, it'll be more expensive winter.. Or vice versa.. We get nasty winters (especially this one), so it's worth it to get quality rubber for winter.
Decisions, Decisions.... Got 2 months to sort it out anyway..
I think that since the Zeon LTZs now come in the stock 19" size, that's probably the best option..
