Cold weather connection/ Check engine light |
|
Good day Gentlemen!
I have a 2006 V8 se and am getting a check engine light after the second drive in cold weather, temps below 0 degrees C. I have repeated the scenario three times. Code free, go for a 10 minute drive. Park, restart, and then the light comes on. The first drive does not result in a light. It has a new MAF, so that shouldn't be an issue. Is there a correlation to water temp/ thermostat. I could just go and get the code read, but that would not be as much fun. My first car was a 1971 11a 109. I am not afraid of wrenches or trouble shooting.
Any opinions are gladly welcomed
Thanks in advance
Paul

Changed the thermostat, fixed |

In case anybody googles this up, the thermostat was replaced and the fault disappeared.
