Suspension upgrades

Just got a 55-plate TDV6 5-seat - not really driven it yet, but am making an assumption based on my experience with a Defender Td5.

This being: the suspension would benefit greatly from enhancement for spirited on-road driving.

Bilstein list B6-Sports dampers for the D3 but I can't find any reference to them on this site or anywhere else.

Does anybody have any secret experience of them?

As the vehicle is poverty-spec it has steel springs all-round. Has anybody played around with stiffer/softer/longer/shorter springs?

Also, I am told that RR L322 non-supercharged (SC) anti-roll bars can be swapped to the SC bars to decrease roll: is there a similar swap possible using RRS SC anti-roll cars for the D3?

Finally, am I right in thinking that RRS wheels will fit straight on? There seem to be loads of 19" sets on ebay due to people blinging up. This would give me an extra 2", but is there anything to be gained from going to 20"?

Many thanks for any replies.

just on the wheel thing, you'd gain nothing, as you need to go down in tyre profile as you go up in rim size, so a 255/55x19 tyre would be the same size as your 235/70x17 (if thats what you've got now), and in 20"'s (275/45x20 or 295/40x20) you are limited with tyre chioce mainly due to the D3's weight. You need tyres rated at 111, and I dont think you are going to find anything like an offroad tyre above 19" (such as Wrangler MTR's)

RRS alloys do go straight on, but the RRS uses a lower profile tyre than the D3, and at a lower weight rating (106), so although there are quite a few sets floating through Fleebay, you need to change tyres. You are better of looking for a set of 19" 2007 model RR (not RRS) alloys, as these have the right tyres for the D3 (255/55x19 111V)
