Ride height
Went to visit ddecker the other day and he said my D3 sat lower than is and it looked rather 8)
He sorted my keys if anyone needs him
I said when I turn it off after 20 seconds or so it 'sinks' down - best description as not technical ( clearly) - like the air has released from the suspension.....
I then turned the old girl on and 'messed' with the ride height and he said that my car responded a lot quicker than his whilst adjusting the height .....
Is the ' lowering ' after turning off the power normal ? or is it mine or his that has the potential issue D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.

it will adjust to the ground level although that's after a while and not straight away.
If you've experienced any issues with the car going in to limp mode recently OR you've had a 4 wheel alignment done at yer local non LR tyre shop, then there might be a fault code logged on the ECU.

I have only had her since May/June ..... it had the service at A1 Bury who to have a good name in our area ....
They described her as having had a hard life .... but safe and ok after the belts and 105k service completed in June .....
It may not be 30 seconds just appears that way ....... but she definately 'settles' down a few inches when turned off .....
Well it appears normal 'ish' then heres hoping D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

My D3 was still sat at the correct height after not being driven for months. They should not lower themselves in normal conditions, unless they have a leak.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Fill a spray bottle with car shampoo and water and get looking for leaks. Always worth fixing them as they only make the compressor work harder than it should.

Apologies for the apparent lack of knowledge .... thinking things through to save me time and money .... An idiots guide
1 -What do they look like ? then I deduced that I spray whilst running (when I know what to spray )
2- If I find something ... how is it repaired.
3 - If its an easy fix ... does anyone know somone to do it or is it a trip to the local indy for parts and repair.
5- Approx cost.
Apologies in advance just an expected to the New Year D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

Well there is a reasonably poor workshop manual in my signature but the easiest way is to work your way around underneath the car, supported on axle stands.
Start at the compressor / reservoir and work your way to each corner via the valve blocks. The system is remarkably simple with a bunch of simple pipework and voss connectors. The airbags are wrapped around the shocks and equally simple.

ohhh even more fun stuff to read .... I am sure you guys do this on purpose
Service Manual Robbie at first look is awesome
That'll keep me busy for weeks
If I find a fault though is it expensive ???
Sorry to ask just stupidly spent my spends for next year .... on Mods
Foolishly thinking after its 105k service it would be ok for the next few days D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

Having the centre bearing done on the rear prop Tues so Andy local indy (A1 Landrover Bury) will check the ride height ....
Andy mentioned that some D3's are 'programmed' to drop when you take out the key .....
So heres hoping no major issue....
It'll all be checked out on the old computer whilst she is in ...
Thanks for those that said dont leave it due to possible compressor issues etc etc., ..... wouldnt have known otherwise D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.

As far as I know that is impossible. The question has been asked many a time if the car can be set up to drop on engine off or key out event and the answer has always been 'not possible'.
As has already been said, often the car will adjust a little after being turned off to try and maintain the car as level as it can, particularly if parked on ground that is not flat. If you have lowering on all 4 wheels then I think you have a leak somewhere.

It will certainly cost you dearly long term if you don't find out compressors cost around £500
A stitch in time saves nine It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Glad I've acted quicklly .... as I thought it was normal ....
Its probably been like that from before I bought it though ....
Only saving grace is it was serviced at the Indy in July and no warning lights on at all since then ..... or other issues so fingers crossed ....
But like you say I havent left it .... D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
