Canada 2010 LR4 5.0 V8 HSE Auto Ipanema SandLR4
2010 LR4 5.0L Block Heater Location

Land Rover used to ship the Canadian Spec LR3 with a block heater but no cord (for some strange reason). Two quick questions:

1) Is Land Rover still doing this will Lr4s
2)Does anyone have a schematic or location of the block heater location on the 5.0L? It is usually the same plug as the one used to drain coolant from the block. If I am lucky the block heater will be installed and all I need to do is source a cord.

The old girl didn't like the -33C she woke up in this morning...

Thanks,

Item 8, replaces the drain plug - 230v version shown:

To have the option on any UK model would be nice.

Thanks for the quick reply. Does that item #8 screw into the block? Hard to tell from the pic.

Looks like a screw thread but I have never had my hands on one:

Kenlowe offer an electric pre-heater, which I used in earlier Land Rovers, and would probably work in the D3 & D4, subject to finding space to fit it.

Given that most of us are only exposed to serious cold when taking our vehicles abroad an aftermarket kit would be a bit of a faff. I would like LR UK to give us the option for the simple OEM block heater. Together with the remote FBH and battery support the car would be in its own little climate.

I wonder if you could fit the OEM heater to the UK spec 3.0L or 2.7L engine?
