FBH remote and DRL flashing

So I thought I'd give the FBH a pre-winter run up and low and behold the after market Philips DRL 's began flashing on about a 10 second cycle - no idea how or why

But very useful to be looking out the window on a cold December morning knowing the FBH is fired up

And when I got in the car there was air ( warmish ) blowing they the face level vents wasn't expecting that either

I think I know why it happens.
DRL is triggered by a small power drop/change of the battery.
As soon as the engine is running there is some fluctuating in power which is normal.
Without the engine running, DRL s are off but the FBH causes some power change when running.
That's why DRL's are on during the FBH cycle.

Think I recall a post not so long ago about where the voltage feed for the DLR lights is taken from, i.e. from a switched positive not the battery?

Mine used to do that when I first wired them up to the battery Shocked
So I rewired them to the redundant connector behind the grill in the centre, which is ignition controlled and think is some option that is used for the foreign market !
And now have had no further issues Very Happy
