Wanted: Somewhere in Adelaide to leave my D3 |
|
Hello,
In a few week's time my missus and I start our 'round Oz adventure. Her Dad is celebrating his 80th birthday in October and we will be flying back for it. What we need is somewhere to park the D3 and camper trailer in Adelaide for the 3 days we'll be in Perth.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance. D4: Expedition Rack, 104 Litre Long Range Tank, Raised Air Intake
D3: Every bloomin' thing but the kitchen sink

COUld help with Whyalla - but a bit far from Adelaide. My Whyalla contact could refer us to a good Adelaide contact if you ran out of options I'm sure...
cheers - email me at sarch@4x4intelligence.com.au if you need to follow-up.

If Simons offer is a bit out of the way then you could also use the 'member map' link above and scroll the map to Aus ...there are 4 members in Adelaide...if you click on the d3 icons it will give you their name and perhaps you could PM them 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Plenty of secure open space up here near Oakbank, Away, but we are 45 minutes from the Airport. If you are really stuck though, you're welcome to park it alongside our shed.
Cheers,
Tony Ex Defender 110 200Tdi owner.

away, wife just spoke to her family who live near Mt Barker (similar distance to Oakbank) and said it would be ok. her brother also happens to be a taxi driver and said (wait for it) it would cost about $60 to get to the airport and he could take you. have you investigated the possibility of long term parking and maybe leaving the camper at one of the places suggested here and driving to the airport (if they have any long term parking).

Catweasel - my friend in Whyalla owns a "real LR"
You'd have to know him/his vehicle - Tombraider - Mike Hayes - and a highly modified Lara Croft Defender !!!
cheers,

Thanks for all of the replies. Through the AUlro forum we have an offer for Bridgewater, which Google Earth tells me is about halfway between Mt Barker and the airport. I have also used the member map and will endeavour to contact one member who appears to live about 5 km from the airport.
We are most grateful for all of the offers so far and we will be printing this thread so that if any of our options fall through, we can refer to your replies and contact you.
Once again, many thanks.
