Finally found a fault!!

After 24,000 miles and circumventing the M25 for the last 9 months you were all aware how much I loved my car and how brilliant it is.....

Well alas I've finally found a fault that I can whinge about.....
As it's RHD the wipers sweep and keep the drivers side windscreen the clearest but what I have noticed and it becomes particularly dangerous on a dark soaking wet M25 is that those wipers just dump all the swept water straight onto the front offside window right across the area that you view through the side window to see the RHS door mirror.... Tonight was particular awful with the grotty weather and I was left straining to see anything at all in the drivers door mirror which on a dark busy M25 was pretty awful....
Yet looked at the near side and the mirror and the side glass had no water on them at all.....
Needs a little channel or airflow to keep that water from blocking the vision...

Thanks rant over......there my Land rover isn't perfect at all.......scandalous!

I don't know if its just my tyres but mine seems to pick up the entire contents of any deep puddles and throw it over the windscreen. Almost cought me out the other day. Big Cry

I'm always amazed too - by how much water comes up on to windscreen in that scenario; D3 & D4. Embarassed

Is the turning circle 'worse' on a D4 compared to D3?

Had D4 a couple of months now, but still can't seem to get off my own drive without clunking kerb. Done it 100's times in D3, with no problems! Embarassed

I know what you mean about the water, I like to have my drivers window open a little bit, but even with a little bit of rain the side window has a line of water running across it.

I wonder if something like this would help;

I have a set of those fitted to my front wondows, they are great and allow the window to be open and prevent anything coming in the cab. Look good too. Thumbs Up

On my last D3, I had a Raised Air Intake, and it completely stopped any water from streaming across the drivers side window.

I have the same option as I had on my D3.....I have the water collector in the A-pillar.....as suggested,it stops the water going across the side window,but instead collects it until the next morning.
Then,when you pull away at low speed,it gurgles loudly and dumps the whole lot out the bottom of the A-pillar near the wing mirror.....a brilliant,but little known safety-feature.... Laughing

I think if you pop up to your local Audi dealership they should be able to help....I believe they have a large range of cars available for people who need to drive while visually challenged Wink
