Just ordered two new bearings from mr BOG (now fitted)

Ive had an intermittant squeak coming from the os of the car for the last few weeks, then tother day I started feeling a very slight rumble through the foot rest.

it all came to light today whilst manovering in the carppark at Silverstone (for a rally experience)
car was on full lock and had an awful noise of click clank tinkle grind Shocked

and thought diff had blown Big Cry but it drove ok

so did a cautious drive back to Banbury and went to mc ds drivethru, all ok until i pulled away and the front wheel squeals again but louder.

long story short

gets it home jacks up that wheel in neutral, slightly noisy when spun but a few mm play in all directions..

checked nearside for comparison and no play what so ever Thumbs Up

looking at the bodsy guide and others on here...
im going to be airing the halfords socket set again Thumbs Up
armed with deadblow mallet too

any hints n tips would be greatly appreciated Bow down (bihex sockets in halfords kit??)
got a hub nut for when i did the epb adjustment and a torque wrench to (300nm)

It's a big homer and a punch Yog to push the shaft backward out from the hub, have you done lower arms before?

well apart from a snapped breaker bar (hub nut) and last hub bolt having the angle grinder treatment Rolling Eyes

it all went quite smoothly..

hub nut was 'kin tight, I got an old torque wrench i use as my breaker bar...

it didnt like me bouncing up and down on it Laughing

brake caliper carrier bolts came out easily enough (too easy?)
and although stiff, the 4 hub bolts came out ok (wd40 and plenty of) apart from the bottom left as you look at it, it got to 95%out then that was it, I did work it back and forth but that last bit wasnt
going anywhere, and what finished me off from trying anymore, was the fact that the socket wrench slipped, pinging the socket off somewhere. I think it landed in the undertray Big Cry
angle grindered the head off and tapped the hub off. so im glad I ordered the 8 bolts.

the drive shaft popped back nicely with a light tap from my yommer and punch Thumbs Up
(cheers Beanie)
rest was straight forward, but next time I will print a list of all the torque settings as sitting on my drive with toughbook on the go looked a bit flash/posy Rolling with laughter

Test drive, quite as a moose

old bearing is fooshed, really rough to spin by hand

other side is earmarked for after Crimbo

Thanks for everybody's help & fast service etc. you know who you are Bow down
