Testing Equipment for a Disco 3 2009 |
|
Hi Guys,
I'm new here as user, buy I have been reading many posts since I started looking for a Discovery 3. I live in Patagonia , Chile , very far away, 2500 kmts from the unique LR Stealer in Chile. ( Chile is not on the list of countries so I choose Argentina on my profile ) I own a tourism company and we have some Defenders 110 to take people on trips and also as support vehicle for our motorcycle trips.
Recently I have jumped into a new dimensión for me and I got my first Disco 3 TDV6 HSE MY2009. ( Rich clients dont like the confort of the Defenders . )
I understood quickly that I need a "machine" to be able to speak with the car and I need your advice on this hard and "expensive" desition.
I want to do as much as possible, read fault codes and clear them but also configurate everything, actÃvate extra keys, actÃvate replaced devices, calibrate suspension, upload new firmware , re-program the ECU, etc, etc..
Also, leaving here I have no option to send the unit back to England for upgrades, so I should be able to do any upgrade or re programing via internet.
It looks like the FaultMAte MSV-2 is my choice, but I would like to have an opinión from the experts !!!
One of the reasons because I decided to buy the Disco 3 despite all the negative comments about faults and problems on these "commputerized beasts" , it was the existence of this fórum. I hope with the right tools and good information I will be able to solve most issues with the car myself.
Also, I would like to know if it's posible to get a better price for members here than online...
Thanks,

Your options are the Faultmate MSV, Nanocom, or IID tool
All of these have been covered in depth on the forum. I suggest you grab a cup of coffee (or 12) and prepare yourself for a long read. Only you can make your mind up My D3 Build Thread
