Related to the brake life discussion, I got my check brake pads light and bong this morning. Then I applied the brakes, the light went off, then I released the brakes and the light came on and another bong. This happened every time I applied my brakes, which, on a journey through the Goyt valley, is very often indeed.

Is this normal? It seems to be a bit over the top! Certainly encourages you to get booked in for new pads Rolling Eyes

(or turn the music up a bit)

Hi,

Another option when the discs need replacing is to use Powerstop discs and Greenstuff pads....
I use these on my Motus Elan and the performance is way above the standard LotusGM/Astra fit.
I believe they do discs and pads for LRs and D3s and if you shop around they have keen prices.

Cheers
JC

Watch that any upgraded discs you buy aren't cross-drilled or grooved if you have any intention of using your car offroad......
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
