Fitting LR Driving Lamps

Well, I have decided to go for the LR driving Lamps, thanks to GLYNNE Wink

My question now is, has anyone fitted these themselves, as looking at the instructions, it looks quite a job - front bumper off etc.....

Any comments would be appreciated Very Happy

Cheers

Do you have an A Bar? If so, you don't need to take bumper off. If not, you need some extra mounts and WILL have to take the bumper off.

No A-bar - so just sourcing the additional bumper mounts as we speak......

Main post on this (by Gareth) is here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic2903.ht...amp+bumper

It takes about 6 hours, seems really daunting, but in hindsight is actually quite easy. DON'T use the LR templates to cut the holes through the bumper - do it by measurement/eye.

I took some pictures but they didn't come out too well - I'll recheck them and see if there are any useful ones.

Thanks Stu, thought it would be a long job, but 6 hours Shocked doubt I would get that long on the drive without either rain, or the wife nagging Rolling Eyes

I'm sure I could do it in half that time now I know what I'm doing, but I was taking my time, reading instructions etc.

Basically it's

Grill off

Lights off

Front wheelarch trims off

Bumper off (storing water from washer resevoir)

Drill mount bolt holes

Fit mounts

Offer up bumper, mark and drill great big holes (51mm) Shocked

Fit bumper, wheelarch trims, lights and grill.

Fit spots.

Got some very useful sheets on removing the bumper that can be pm'd to you if required - courtesy of TenForCash. Also (as has been mentioned) TFC is pretty handy at this sort of thing - I'm sure he'd be a lot cheaper than a dealer and do a much better job! Excluding our wonderful dealership sponsors, obviously Wink

Well, after humming and harring, and due to the length of time it will take me, decided to book it into the local stealers for fitment, as they are quoting 2 hours labour to me, and then at least it is done with no hassle for me, and if they mess up, at least they will put it right...as this then saves me taking it to them for the ECU switching on, so when you deduct this from the fee, its not too bad Wink
