EGR questions

Hi D3

Couple questions about EGR valve

1. As I have removers my right EGR "far side" because the joint between the cooler and the EGR was leaking can u get a pipe set to connect the hoses etc up rather than replace the EGR cooler unit?

2. Also would this leak between the EGR and cooler sound like a blown exhaust gasket, I got that noise but only when driving and would start 1500rpm?

Thanks for any advise, am sure anyone who has removed one of these knows how tricky they can be.

Regards Kyle.

You can blank them at the rear of the manifold, to effectively do away with the coolers Thumbs Up

No-one makes blanking plates for the manifolds, I had to make up my own plates, using a gasket as a template.

That is if I understand the questions properly Embarassed

Thanks mike,

Think u mentioned before about putting a plate on the end of the cooler, can u do that and just remove the EGR, might be a lot easier to get back in?

Thats what I have done. Blanked at the manifold, and removed the EGR's altogether Thumbs Up

Means that if there is a coolant leak in the cooler, it doesn't leak into the intake, nor pressurise the cooling system Thumbs Up

Cooler manifold!... Misunderstood what U said before! Whistle That's what I will do.
so would a leak from there sound similar to a popped exhaust? Did u put a bracket on the cooler manifold end or did the hoses hold it ok ? Final
Question I promise!
