The MOD on Salisbury Plain have asked GLASS /Tread Lightly UK to put this out:

“Rivers are in flood, the ground saturated & many springs that have not run for years are now active. A number of villages on Salisbury Plain are now flooded e.g. Chitterne, Netheravon and Tilshead.
Please do not come to the Plain for recreational purposes until further notice.

Must admit it's great to watch someone else "wading" but unless I have to go through deep water I don't. Radiators, intercoolers fill up with crud, wheel bearings suffer and much more mechanical damage can happen, but hey!!! one life and all that stuff. In the past I have done it, what does give me a buzz is when I fell the water lapping on the floor of the car. Having changed many wheel bearings on Disco 1s and struggled to get radiators clean I won't be rushing to do deep water in my D3. Best of luck and enjoy.
We were planning on doing a green lane trip next week-end and it was going to involve some of Salisbury Plain but we had heard that it was a no go area at the moment, so we will just have to find somewhere else but I would guess it will all be very soggy.Cheers Paul.K
