Squeaking noise (interior)

Hi Everyone

I have a persistent squeaking noise since day one (1200km) in the car that seems to come from the rear and that does not necessary follow the car movement (suspension). The noise can only bear heard from 45km/h and above on irregular roads and comes and goes at random.

I tried to "shake" the car from every corner when stopped to see if it would come from the suspension but nothing... Any ideas?

Squeak

I have been chasing that one for a few months..........try putting up the rear seats one by one......I have one in the flat stowed position that is creating the squeak, not had time to adjust or sort out in another way

Hi Thanks

The dealer already had a look but not effect, granted I only gave them 2 days to fix it out, I will have to give them the car for a bit longer, but it is something that I could fix myself it would save time.

I will have a look at the seats and see

Have a look at the tailgate too, if it's not adjusted properly it can make such a squeak. Try a quick drive with it open to eliminate.

Interesting will have a look at it too, but it will have to wait a bit, I will have a hard time giving this a try in Tokyo (I am living in the center of Tokyo)

My wife found and diagnosed a rattle in my D4 near the glove box, went into Guava to be fixed this week.

For yours why don't you persuade a friend to sit in the boot on a journey and find the source of the noise, my son has been helpful in the past, though my wife does not like travelling in the boot!

On my old D3 I had a rattle on tailgate a few years ago, dab of grease on the rubber blocks that keep the tailgate located when closed worked.

I had a similar noise in boot area and it turned out to be the plastic flap which covers the gap between tailgate and boot floor when tailgate down. It was sliding slightly side to side on its hinges so a few blobs of grease cured it.

I found that some soft electrical tape, taped over of the 'wedge's attached tot he body did the trick. I don't suppose it could be the parcel shelf?

The one that drove me nuts and took an age to trace turned out to be the sprung 'stops' on the upper tailgate, bit of grease and noise free for a couple of years.
I started off with nothing and Ive still got most of it left.
