Movement in serpantine belt tentioner...
Noticed yesterday that at idle there is some movement in the auxiliary drive belt tensioner, not sure if this is normal so my question to the knowledgeable folks here is how much movement should there be at idle (if any) ?

When you wiggle it side to side with your hand you should feel no play in the bearing/mounting.
With the engine at idle they do move up and down a bit but smooth-out as the revs increase. Even this varies with ambient temperatures with cold belts being the worse whilst warm belts are the smoothest.
Not sure if any of that helps, but there you go.
