Headlamp bulbs
Just got home to find my dipped headlight bulb has gone
I obviously need to replace it but am unsure what to replace it with
I have looked on Halfords website at both their own, Bosch and GE bulbs and am totally confused.
I am not sure whether my current bulbs are Halogen or Xenon so any advice on how to tell would be welcome.
Is it possible to put either in or do I have to replace like for like.
Also wondering whether it is worth butting in the higher brilliance ones or whether this will also cause problems with lights blowing
Any advice on what to buy or what I may have most welcome
Thanks in anticipation for any help
Steve

First you need to see if you've got halogens or xenons, latter have fish bowl lenses.

Thought that might be handy - just difficult to keep up with the upgrades, so go to the bulb section once you have looked at types.Paul Redding

Steve, did you buy one or two pairs. If only one pair it might be worth getting a second for the high beam H7s. Makes a big difference.

All
Thanks for all the advice and a special thanks to the guys at Advanced Factors who sorted me out at amazing prices
Having read all replies I have today installed new Osram night breakers as both main and full beam lights.
Have to say LR don't make it easy as trying to get hands into small holes to get at lamps a nightmare
