Been running my V8 D3 on LPG for over a year now. They also fitted a Flash Lube system when they did the LPG conversion. I do not notice any difference in performance, just a slightly better feeling at the fuel pump. Smile

this thread is just what im looking for. really want to buy a v8 but only if the lpg works well with it. not concerned about power differences has its a myth. what i want to know is if there is any mechanical issues with installing the lpg? is there a particular lpg system that has to be used etc??

theres got to be some stories surely Embarassed

Not sure of the make of my system (will check on the weekend). It's a sequential injection system (i.e. fires the gas at each individual injector not a bank). As said before I have not noticed any difference in performance or power and it still sounds lovely when you hit the loud pedal. Some have said that with LPG you will need your heads rebuilding at 100,000 miles. But, the flash lube should avoid that. Even if it does require a new pair of heads at 100,000 miles I will have saved a fortune in fuel costs. I get about 15mpg when running around town and about 20 mpg on a run. This equates to 30mpg in town and around 40 on a run as the gas is half the price of the petrol (pay 70c per litre as opposed to $1.55 for 95 RON). The gas tank also gives me an extra 200 miles range.

HTH

cheers for this reply Ivan. really what i needed! i will be very grateful for any info you can pass over. has far has the lpg, theres a system that lubricates the heads and stops the possible wear and damage to them. so that is something that i will get done if i buy a d3 that isnt lpg'd.

many thanks

Ash
