Japanese Sat Nav conversion |
|
Hey there, new to the forum as i have just purchased my first LR...first of many i hope as have always wanted one.
Anyway, its a 2007 Disco 3 HSE 4.4 V8 imported from Japan with the built-in LR Sat Nav etc. Has anyone any idea if this can be converted to NZ GPS and English language etc?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Cori

That would get me the language issue resolved (if possible), but as i can't read japanese i would be tapping bottons blindly trying to get to the setting to change it...
But would also like to get the sat nav changed to NZ too, and that surely will require an upgrade of some sort.

You need to change the region and language in the car config file
You would then need the appropriate disk for you region .

Great that's nice to hear. So long as it can be done, then i can get it sorted and not have to forkout for an after-market one. Picking it up in a couple of days and will get a complete service done at that point by local LR agents...will see if they can do this too.
Will report back for future reference.

Just reporting back for future reference. Got the TV etc on to english with the random pushing of buttons approach. Managed to get the TV working in NZ too...nice bonus. And the local LR guys say that with the right sat nav disc the sat nav should work too, but that'll be $500 (to come in from the UK)! Seems pricey, anyone know where i may get one myself?

Try Sensis in Oz, they do the OZ discs for LR. If not order from Nick. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi Cori77
did you have success with the Sat Nav disk? I'm in a similar situation. did you manage to source one and if so, where from?
Cheers
