Anyone fabricate LR3 Expedition Rack Front Support Legs
Has anyone fabricated the front support legs on an expedition rack. My rack didn't come with any and I am looking for a way to make or buy some new ones.Narpy's Grill Mod, Suspension Rods, Ultra guage, wrangler Goodyear duratracs 265/60/18, new thermostat, diff oils changed, brake switch new, aluminum rack floor, LED driving lights in foglights, rear camera, just need gvif unit, next on list! New front arb bushings, new front valve block, 191,000 miles.

The 'legs' were cosmetic plastic mouldings that did not serve any purpose, except on the G4 to cover the cables for the Rooflights and the CB aerial. In close up there was clear day light between the top of the legs and the rack. The rack itself is plenty stiff enough to support any reasonable load on the front of the rack. In 5 years with the G4 I never had a problem when I had load up to and over the front cowl.
Unless you are putting some incredibly hefty weight on the front of your rack, I wouldn't botherCraig

The reason why I wanted the support legs is because when on the highway the rack seems to be moving up and down slightly and making noises.Narpy's Grill Mod, Suspension Rods, Ultra guage, wrangler Goodyear duratracs 265/60/18, new thermostat, diff oils changed, brake switch new, aluminum rack floor, LED driving lights in foglights, rear camera, just need gvif unit, next on list! Mine is not a G4 but has metal legs in the front with a plastic cover around them. They would be very easy to make if you are able to bend and cut steel.
There should be metal supports inside the plastic covers. I believe RLD on this forum has made some of the metal bits.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. I assume you are talking about the metal uprights? There is a metal part that fits in the gutter rail that the legs bolt onto. Part marked in red. When I bought my rack these were missing, so have been running without these, and seems to be fine. I've also had the rack loaded up, so seems fine. But if I could get these I would fit them to spread the load a bit.

I thought there was a fitting kit one could buy, but maybe I'm wrong.

You might be able to adapt the legs from another rack - e.g. Thule or Front Runner.

Just found this thread, as I remembered posting something about it. Unfortunately no mention of the kit number. I've searched for the kit number and can't seem to find it.
