Heated front screen upgrade?
Got a few cracks and chips in the D4 screen and now starting to steam up when raining so need to get replaced.
Original screen is not heated, but if I order a heated screen are the connectors likely to already be there.
If so, is it then a question of getting a dash switch fitted or would it come on automatically below a certain temp.
Any advice appreciated 11 RR 4.4 TDV8

heated screen
Hi
On A D4 Im not 100% percent sure but if you unscrew the screw in the internal window pillar and pull the covering off there should be a connector on both sides of the window pillars middle of the way down.
Normally on a D3 the front screen is turned on when you hit the PROG button ( mines is an HSE) and its all done automatically. PROG button is part of the heater control panel on the D3.
Your D4 might need a software box ticked to tell it it has a heated windscreen and hey presto one working front windscreen, you might also have to put a relay into the fuse boar somewhere.
Wiggs might be able to help on this one
cheers

Thanks for this, did think a relay may be necessary somewhere along the line. Not sure where it would be switched from unless its combined in to the front screen de mist button? Will try and locate some wires11 RR 4.4 TDV8
