Just spoken to my local dealer about programming a replacement key, he says that they have had some problems on the last two they have done as they were completely locked out of the car. Has anyone had a key programmed lately? They are blaming Land Rover as they keep updating the software.

Changed my key fob due to the "rubber problem". Dealer ordered a new one and programmed it without any issues. See here.

It depends what module part number is in the car and what software level SDD is being used
some of them do not match
Did a good few recently but one failed (and had "go older to do it")
all above D4 related
