A mate of mine is building a Defender special, with a Cummins engine. He says it came out of a small lorry 
I hope he upgraded the diffs

My D3 Auto downshifts to maintain the set speed on the cruise control - its very effective and I love it.
So the D4 doesn't do that?

Any LR's I've driven so far (incl. FL2, D3) never downshifted to maintain set CC speed. I take this as a feature, not as a problem. I believe the same applies for the D4 as well. 8)

Its cruise control, not speed control.
those god awful lorries that overtake and annoy have speed control. we more civilised people have cruise control!!!!
