new owner air susp question
Hi all
4th day of ownership and another quick couple of questions,
The car sits over night for about 12 hours, and when I start it in the morning the air suspension raises the front a bit and the back a bit and levels out, now is this just air leaking over night or the system waking up and realising its not parked on a level driveway?
The car has done 90k, appears in good shape (not that 4 days is a good trust building period) so I imagine the air suspension has some wear in it.
Additionally anyone got a fix for the pigging door handle rubbing my knee?
As a side note, I am aware I drive like a pansy but I am currently getting an indicated 26.1 mpg on my 8mile commute through rural roads and through Ipswich town, I thought that was pretty good tbh.
thanks again all

NFLR vehicle will fart occasionally when sat there and try level up by releasing air. When started it will level again by putting air back into the bags.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Welcome
You might want to get the suspension checked out, it shouldn't really be losing air overnight!
Also, how exactly are you sitting to get the door handle rubbing your knee???
the MPG for around town seems good. I'm not getting much more on motorways!
It might be worth getting an alternative way of measuring the MPG rather than the dash, it's always off the mark
If you've got a smartphone there are numerous apps that you cna get to measure the MPG.Lee

D2 3.9 V8 supposed to be Green, was mainly rust. Gone but not forgotten.

No, because then your suspension compressor will have to work harder to lift it up to normal height in the morning. Compressor will wear out quicker and you will have to pay £600 for a new one sooner.
The answer is to find out where it is leaking from and fix the leak.

Buy some knee pads in nearly 10 years of D3 driving I have never ever experienced this or heard of the complaint before, sure it isn't a D2 you've bought
Is the car parked on level ground? - system wakes up every 20mins to check if the car is level, if the ground is not level it is automatically lowered on the highest corner until it sits level, when the engine is started the compressor will start up and the suspension will raise slightly, parked on level ground the suspension should stay up indefinatly.

Thanks M3DPO,
I went to the car this morning which was parked on even less level ground last night and it appeared not to move at all when I started it..
Checked with my warranty and it should be covered if it does pack up in the next 12 months.
