Nipped out for 2 minutes and came back to find both of them in the front seat....they obviously fiddled with something because the car initially refused to start. The brake pedal was rock hard with no give at all....after 4 or 5 attempts the pedal eased slowly and the car started....so what do you reckon they touched ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Got rid of the vacuum in the servo, resulting in extra pressure needed to press the pedal to enable the car to start
Early 10/11MY cars had a software update to cure this My D3 Build Thread

This has just happened to our MY11 RRS in the car park at Seahouses. My daughter had parked it there and taken the 'olds' on the boat trip and on her return, couldn't start the car. Same thing... Brake pedal hard and no start.
Will have to ring dealer and arrange the software update as I assume it's not been done.
I read this thread this morning.... So knew the cause As you slide down the banister of life

I didn't, I'd taken the dog for a run on the beach at Alnmouth, but my daughter had taken the grandparents out on the trip to the Farnes. My FIL has been wanting to do the trip for years. As you slide down the banister of life
