Cargo barrier fitting

Hello All,

I'm trying to fit the full-height cargo barrier but I am having problems removing the little bolt half way up the C pillar. It seems to be just spinning but not coming out. I can't reach it easily as the boot side trim covers it. Will I need to remove the side of the boot to be able to get hold of it to pull it out? I think that once the thread gets hold, it will unscrew but I just can't get to it to get the thread started.

Anyone got any great ideas?

Cheers,
 Bri

Might be considered a bit cheeky, but ring the fellas at Atlantech Seating - they spend a huge amount of time taking the cargo barriers OUT of D4's so may be able to point you in the right direction with a kind word or two...

Good luck!

These should come out easily. If it is spinning then probably the concealed nut has come loose. You should not normally have to remove the trim.

Once you do get the trim off and clamp the nut then a rivnut should do the job.

Thanks for the suggestions Guys,

I've been looking at the boot side trim removal instructions on here, and the awkward bolt is one of the ones that needs to be removed in order to get the side trim off. Rolling Eyes

Even if I managed to get the trim off, I don't think I'd be able to get behind the C pillar to grab the captive nut. Big Cry

What a nightmare. A job which should have taken 10-15 mins last night wasted the whole night and I'm still no further forward. Sad

Perhaps just miss out that fitting? The top and bottom ones hold it securely anyway.
