Convert TDV6 to NA
I am considering buying a Discovery 3 as they are much cheaper than Defenders - and then bring it back to basics. So no air suspension, no AC, no extra sensors etc.
One thing that I can't find info about is permanently removing the turbo (and needed remap). I can live with the speed on an S3 - and with the turbo gone it should still be ~110hps.
Anyone who has done it or seen an article somewhere about that sort of modification?
Cheers

Why?
Air suspension - vastly improves it off road
AC - when my AC was broken the car steamed up all the time - the ventilation system is designed to function with AC
Turbo - take the turbo to manifold hose off the try driving and see how it ruins the cars performance
All my personal view and intended constructively.Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)
LR 90 - In bits
Disco 3 - currently in bits

Hello, welcome, hi!
So you want actually a D1… so buy a D1
Not expensive, very good off-road, same engine as a defender..
Some D2’s (not all!) may be sufficient also…
As Pete said… turbo (and air suspension) are not the big risk parts on a D3..Best regards
Harold

The whole architecture of that engine was designed around having a turbo. I'm not sure you could even derive a fueling calibration that would work without the turbo.Richard

T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder

Thank you all for your inputs.
There are unfortunately not many D1s in Denmark, but plenty of D3s as they became popular in the city.
So the D1 comment is spot on
Since no one has linked to a NA conversion then it is most likely a dead end, fair enough.
