Suspension failure- fixed (I think)

Soooooo, yesterday, ran out to the shop to pick something up and on the way though I heard a rattle from the back that’s not usually there, got to the shop, checked the boot and roof rack, all good so went home. I got 15ft from the drive when I heard a loud pop like a balloon exploding and then suspension warning came on Crying or Very sad

Parked on the drive and checked the codes - c1131-92 “RLM - air supply” so this morning I jacked it up to take a look at the compressor, hoping it may be a pipe that’s popped off. Started to suspect otherwise when dessicant started coming out of the drain hole in the compressor cover as I was unclipping, and once it was off, the fault was self evident I think Very Happy

Looks like the securing screw had vibrated off and the dryer was already week so popped the seal under pressure, completely splitting at the seam and popping off.

really hoping that’s what happened, and there’s not a blockage somewhere that caused it! New emergency dryer from Amazon in the morning and fingers crossed

All fixed Smile thanks to Amazon yesterday thinking “deliver by 1pm” means dropping it off at 9:40pm I ended up fitting the replacement this morning, took it for a drive, up down up down up down, no lights, no errors Smile

Coming home today and heard exactly the same “balloon pop” that I got with this in February followed by normal height only and suspension error so until I get chance to get under the car, I suspect the same has happened again, air dryer explosion.

Anyone got any ideas on what could cause this? First time I put down to loose bolt / faulty dryer, but twice??.

Shouldn't there be a pressure release valve on the compressor so that does not happen. I would remove compressor and check all valving.
