LR Owner Internation green lane guide
Bought the August edition for a holiday read, one of the reasons being that it had a guide to greenlaning in the Lakes, and wanting to do some for the first time
Unfortunately it appears to have been left in France!
Off there week on Saturday and wondering if anyone has a copy they could send me if you don't want it, or failing that could scan and send via email?
Here's hoping
Many thanks
Ed

I may have a copy in the car, I'll' have a look in the morning as it is down at the moment. I seem to remember (although the memory is a bit fuzzy these days) that the month after they posted a note saying that note all the lanes they drove were actually BOAT's, some of them had been TRO'd.
Whereabouts are you staying in the Lakes as all going well I should be over there also.Cheers Ian

Hi, thanks for the response
Going up on the 26th October for a week, staying in St John in the Vale
Are you there same week?
Never done any before, so any help gratefully received!

If I manage to get there I'll be in Glenridding for the week, there is a great lane just beside St John in the Vale called the old coach road, it runs from the St John in the Vale road just out of Threlkeld (B53322) and runs over to Matterdale, it runs parallel to the A66 but you wouldn't know it. It's actually easier if you drive it Matterdale to Threlkeld.
I recorded a video of it a couple of years ago which is speeded up
And here are a few photos from the couple of times I've done it this year

Wft was Mrs Hairy Dan doing at the beginning of that video which required her to pull up her jeans when she got to the gate?
PS - I've just twigged who you are... And if you are who I think you are, you've cost me a bloody fortune over the past 15yrs! flickr

That was my (at the time) 14 year old daughter
If I've cost you a fortune, it must be something to do with motorsport Cheers Ian

Oh...
And yes... Motorsport, and photography...
Your photos made me want to go trackside for the first time, at Croft...
Lost count of how many times I've been there, Oulton, Harewood, weekends away at Donny, Silverstone, Brands...

Dave, glad you liked the photos, are you at Croft for the Rallycross GP this weekend? The GP was one of the last events I covered in 2011 and it was after an incident at Clervaux with Simon Horton in one of the super car heats I decided I was going to retire and finally let my MSA, Croft and other accreditations lapse in 2012. To be honest I can't say I have missed it either and am finally starting to enjoy taking photos again Just had a look through your Flikr and realised I follow you on there You have some great photos in there. Cheers Ian

Thanks to Ian (hairy Dan) for leading us ( BBDisco Brian) along The Old Coach road today.
Shame the sun wasn't on Blencathra for the photoshoot, but excellent fun,
Thrilling, and a special thanks to Ian's daughter Emma(?) for doing the gates for us
Look forward to doing it again next summer.
Can't add any photos until I get home.

Thanks Ian - and of course to your daughter for dealing with the gates.
I got no complaints afterwards from my navigator/co-pilot except for the lack of a full rainbow
She also thinks I edited your video before I showed it to her
Glad Ed & Dad also enjoyed the trip.
