The rear wiper has been irritating me! It has not been running flush with the window for a while & frequently jams in the upright position! After a bit of investigation it seems to relate to the amount of dirt that accumulates on the rear window and the solution is simple - a bit of WD40 on the hinge rivet + return spring (just keep a cloth behind when spraying it to catch any overspray), and then prise out the cap at the centre of the wiper mechanism & spray that as well - 5 mins work and it's fixed - but just another example of a minor design issue

Ecosse, WD40 is only a short term result as it dries out. Try motorcycle chain spray grease very lightly in exactly the same way. Bet that works for a lot longer. By the way, did you know the rear tail gates both upper and lower are alluminium? I found out trying to stick a magnetic sticker onto it the other day .

I had the same problem with the rear wiper.
But, I got a new one (free of charge)
Tx LR
It's much better than WD40

Had mine replaced ages ago for this very reason... standing proud of glass when dirty. Had it replaced and have not had a problem since.
