Tool not responding
Hi,
Intermittently I keep getting a tool not responding message when trying to launch the GAP IID tool, It take a few attempts of car off, tool unplugged and phone app closed but eventually it works.
Thought I would try the GAP IID update on the PC to check its running the latest softwate, and its showing an error.

Strange they normally reply the same day, I've had emails up to and after 9pm from them during the week.

Re-sent an email - and had an out of office, so I guess that is why I haven't had a reply.

I'd suggest uninstall the program on the PC, reboot it, then plug the iiD in and see if it sorts itself out.

Well the removal of the PC app and reinstall has made the updater work, and I have re-installed the 3.00.00.B2481 firmware.2010 Disco 4 HSE

I have emailed GAP but thought I’d also ask on here,still having issues where things don’t work but the tool is showing connected. Have to close the app, power down the car and try again...

Check the OBD socket is clean, spray with electric solvent cleaner and make sure the tool is fully pushed in, push it in and out 2 or3 times to help clean the socket.It can when others can't,

Just to report back on this in case anyone has the same problems.
I think it's definitely the IID unfortunately, I used this as an excuse to upgrade my phone contract, so a fresh new iPhone out the box has the same symptoms, works sometimes on bluetooth and intermittently showing tool not connected, or not updating data, but on the steering wheel seems to work ok for reading codes.
I then tried it on a friends D3 to rule out the tool or car, and this had the same symptoms, and I have also tried on a Samsung Android phone to rule out Apple
Pat as ever is brilliant and sending me things to test and try so hopefully he can get it working again.2010 Disco 4 HSE

Not had any joy squeezing, if anything the tool is getting progressively worse via bluetooth, to the point where now I cant get it to load at all, but everything works perfectly using the cruise buttons...
Pat has offered to take a look at the tool for me, so it's all boxed up and ready to drop of at the post office. I have to say when I realised Pat was in Canada I was a little worried about the cost of postage, but Royal Mail with tracking and a 5-7 day service has come back at £10.10!2010 Disco 4 HSE
