Took her out for the first time
Took my 06 HSE out today to see dirt for the first time ever...I dont think the first owner ever took it offroad either. It's amazing when you take something offroad do you hear rattles that you normally wouldnt onroad. Well i have something i need to trace down or have the dealer trace it (since it's still under warranty) but it almost sounds like a heat shield. Anyway, I took my 2 boys out on a fire road to the Holy Jim trailhead in the Cleveland National Forest.

Doesn't look very dirty...you need to try harder...
I'm always jealous when I see photos from the US members - the areas and scenery you can get to are The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Thats one thing that's always amazed me about the States, having taken a few flights "trans States" where you fly for hours over incredibly varied landscapes and terrains, it must be an incredible place to just go and explore without people looking over your shoulder all the time saying "you can't go there"" you can't do that".
I suppose there must be some regulation in certain areas but it seems to me there's a lot more freedom than we ever had here, if only by virtue of the sheer size of the place.Clive

Hoping to do trans USA on a Harley in the next couple of years.
Can't wait to see all the stunning scenery etc.
Should be a trip of a lifetime if and when it actually happens.
Won't be looking forward to any "hills have eyes" moments though Welcome "Lola"

thanks guys, it's hard to believe that this is just a plane old fire road that leads to a trail head where you go hiking and mountain biking, it's within 10 minutes drive from "civilization". so people over time have made side trails that have "obstacles" and mud pits so you can go and get dirty. Some kid brought his ford ranger pickup truck and must have been going at a good clip because he rolled it, had both airbags deployed both wheel's steering knuckles damaged and flated 3 of 4 tires. It was left there, probably to get some tow truck out there to recover it.

and it is true there are thousands of miles that you can just go and explore and be true expedition if you want to.
rattle seems to be coming from LHS side although i had my window down so the noise could be from left...but for sure it's coming from the front. The more i think about it the more it's going to bug me-Greetz, Duan
