Timing belt kit question

Doing this the weekend along with oil pump and water pump, I’ve had all my shiny new box of goodies come and as I’ve checked the two idler pullys are different to look at but say the same codes and the dims are the same except for the rear of the black pull being slightly larger than the blue

Has anyone else had this as both came in exactly the same boxes and labels

Appreciate your comments on this [/u]

They are fine just fit them, they come in blue or black, I have fitted 100's of the black ones.. as long as they are from AF, they will be fine.

Flack Thumbs Up

How did you get access to the rear belt?
How are you flushing the gearbox oil? as I think I could do with mine being done

Hi brisco I removed battery and the tray, unclipped the low pressure fuel pipes (1 yellow clip and 1 grey clip), egr metal coolant pipe that crosses the engine towards the back and then released the 3-4 harness plugs pushing the wires over out the way. Loads of threads on here how to do it. It’s not a timed belt either Thumbs Up

I’ve made a set up with a pump to swop fluids in the gearbox so will se how it goes today

Nice landrover go over the top and do it reverse with a mirror (my dad has his done) was just wondering might tackle it myself when mines due sounds straight forward enough.

Moving the battery out and the looms allows more room to go over the top and down the back.
If you have big hands i guess it would be a lot harder
Plenty of knowledgeable guys on here to help with guides too

Was it easy enough to change? Feeling mine needs doing as I sometimes get a little bounce in the revs when cruising not all the time though.
Seems characteristic of the auto gearbox fluid needing doing.

I didn’t remove the cross member so it was a bit awkward to get the fixings at the front I drained the sump and took the easy bolts out then used a spanner with a t-40 to get the rest
All read this from threads on here
Changing the fluid will help you a bit but not fix the underlying issue
